Storm Plant Food was born from a conversation on a front porch in PEI, where the Blanchard family combined their passions and expertise. Marie-Eve Blanchard, "a passionate gardener and scientist (BSc in Environmental Biology, McGill) whose priority is building a sustainable business that contributes to the circular economy" (Storm Plant Food), introduced the idea to "harness a secret that coastal farmers have been using on their fields for centuries" (Storm Plant Food). Her father-in-law, Jeannot, brings more than 30 years of experience in international investment banking and professional services to Storm as CFO" (Storm Plant Food). Together, the family saw an opportunity to turn seaweed into a valuable product for home gardeners. Their vision is to bring the traditional benefits of seaweed’s minerals and nutrients to help plants thrive, reflecting their commitment to innovation and sustainability.
