Capucine Maneckjee Pottery
Livingstone Cove, Nova Scotia capucinemaneckjeepottery@gmail.com

I produce high-fired stoneware and porcelain pottery. Pots are thrown on a potter's wheel and hand glazed. I develop many of my glazes. The work is fired in a reduced atmosphere in a gas kiln. The pots are durable and fully functional: food safe, dishwasher, microwave and oven-friendly.

Products: Mugs, bowls, teapots, vases, covered jars, framed trivets, flower pots, ornaments.

The earliest found fragments of pottery are dated to 29,000 BC. I see my pots not as unique but as part of this craft tradition. I have a degree in ceramics and have been making pottery for 25 years. I draw inspiration from my surroundings and often am inspired by the glazes I develop.
